Lee Ballauer is a former aircraft engineer, turned skateboard artisan. After a long hiatus from skateboarding, Lee began building wooden cruiser boards and longboards in his basement wood shop. Soon, Collingswood Board Co. was born, creating handmade solid-wood skateboards, inspired by the classic decks of the 60s and 70s. A year later, Ballauer’s studio moved out of the basement and into The Factory in Collingswood, NJ’s premier maker-space. His boards are often constructed from local South Jersey wood, with Ocean City, NJ sand in the grip.

A native of Washington Township (Gloucester County), Lee and his wife Erin have lived in Collingswood for 12 years. They can often be found skating through the neighborhood, or walking their two dogs, Willis and Major.
